Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, libraries, utilities, reusable components, and infrastructure.
- Build and operate large-scale automated test suites for SaaS applications, APIs, services, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Write production-quality automation for functional, integration, regression, API, and system-level testing.
- Use AI coding assistants and agents for code analysis, test generation, debugging, refactoring, and automation development, then validate the generated output.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines, runners, build systems, deployment infrastructure, test environments, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot automation failures, application defects, environment issues, and production incidents using logs, metrics, traces, database queries, code, and system behavior.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, DevOps, operations, and QA teams to identify quality risks and improve engineering practices.
- Improve test coverage, automation speed and stability, testability, observability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Review application and test code and provide technical feedback on quality and automation effectiveness.
- Support production issue reproduction and customer issue troubleshooting outside standard working hours when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering, SDET, DevTest, or QA automation experience with strong hands-on programming experience.
- Programming experience in one or more of Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Experience building automation frameworks, test libraries, reusable testing components, and automation infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, APIs, databases, debugging, version control, test design, regression testing, and automation reliability.
- Experience testing APIs, backend services, web applications, distributed systems, or enterprise software.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated test execution, runners, and build or deployment infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud environments and troubleshooting cloud-hosted applications and test environments.
- Experience troubleshooting complex application and production issues using logs, metrics, traces, database queries, and code-level debugging.
- Ability to independently understand an existing codebase and build significant automated test coverage.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools or coding agents in daily engineering and test automation work.
- Preferred experience with enterprise SaaS, IT management, cybersecurity, endpoint management, RMM, or other complex software platforms.
- Preferred experience with API automation, integration testing, contract testing, service virtualization, distributed-system testing, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and relational databases.
- Preferred experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, pytest, JUnit, TestNG, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, independently drive automation initiatives, identify root causes, and support troubleshooting outside standard working hours when required.
