Base Salary
$115k - $193k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain production backend services and Python APIs.
- Develop stable, reusable interfaces for cloud and AI integrations and translate product requirements into maintainable software.
- Work with relational databases, caching, messaging, and managed cloud services.
- Improve application reliability, performance, security, observability, monitoring, and production support.
- Implement authentication, request validation, rate limiting, logging, and consistent error handling.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement preventative improvements.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and performance tests and participate in code reviews and paired development.
- Contribute to containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs and production web services.
- Experience with automated testing, Git-based development, and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of secure coding, application monitoring, and production support.
- Strong Python programming and object-oriented design skills.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform; Google Cloud is preferred.
- Preferred experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, Redis, cloud messaging or analytics services, OAuth, JWT, enterprise authentication systems, asynchronous or high-volume APIs, and generative AI services or model APIs.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
