Responsibilities
- Define the long-term architecture for Ads Quality across signals, entity understanding, model execution, decisioning, feedback, and measurement.
- Design architectures for heterogeneous AI systems, including lightweight models, multimodal models, LLMs, agents, and deterministic systems.
- Set technical direction across real-time, nearline, and offline systems while balancing quality, latency, freshness, cost, and reliability.
- Define how evidence, model outputs, confidence, calibration, thresholds, and decision policies work together in production.
- Partner with Applied Science, prototype difficult concepts, and influence implementation through design reviews and hands-on engagement.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent technical depth.
- Deep experience architecting large-scale production systems spanning multiple teams.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, production AI/ML systems, decision systems, or large-scale data platforms.
- Strong understanding of model serving, experimentation, evaluation, observability, rollout, and feedback loops.
- Ability to reason across software architecture and model behavior, simplify complex systems, and resolve ambiguous technical problems.
- Track record of influencing senior engineers and technical leaders across organizational boundaries.
- Experience with advertising, quality systems, entity intelligence, multimodal AI, agentic systems, behavioral systems, or large-scale inference is valuable.
