Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and enhancement of IDE and developer tooling solutions.
- Develop and customize IDE plugins, extensions, integrations, and developer workflows.
- Drive technical solutions that improve developer experience, productivity, code quality, and software delivery efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership across code editing, build, debugging, testing, source control, and deployment workflows.
- Evaluate and integrate intelligent code completion, code analysis, refactoring, debugging, and developer automation capabilities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, Platform, Security, and Product teams to deliver developer tooling solutions.
- Guide and mentor engineers through technical design, development, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Drive engineering standards, reusable tooling, automation, and continuous improvement across development teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, including strong experience with developer tooling, IDE platforms, or engineering productivity solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern IDEs and software development workflows.
- Experience with IDE platforms such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, or similar environments.
- Experience developing or integrating IDE plugins, extensions, SDKs, APIs, or developer tools.
- Strong understanding of compilers and build systems, debugging, code analysis, source control, testing, and development lifecycle tooling.
- Good understanding of Git, CI/CD, build automation, and modern software engineering practices.
- Proven ability to drive technical design and make architecture decisions for complex developer tooling solutions.
- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise-scale developer platforms, cloud-based development environments, AI-assisted development, coding assistants, intelligent code completion, GenAI-based developer productivity tools, and integration with CI/CD, DevOps, security scanning, code quality, and observability platforms.
- Understanding of Java, APIs, microservices, containers, and Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise engineering environments, including Payments or FinTech, is an advantage.
