Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype and deliver scalable engineering solutions across the Responsibility research portfolio.
- Architect and optimize training and inference pipelines to detect and evaluate harmful manipulation behaviors in frontier language models.
- Develop post-training strategies to mitigate deceptive persuasion, sycophancy, covert influence, and other manipulation risks.
- Translate AI safety research into robust implementations in collaboration with research scientists.
- Build and maintain evaluation infrastructure for tracking model safety performance across releases.
- Present research and engineering results to cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Three years of experience in Python programming.
- Three years of experience with ML frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related machine learning field.
- Preferred: experience with Python and C++ for high-performance ML library development.
- Preferred: experience with harmful manipulation detection, persuasion modeling, deceptive behavior analysis, AI safety evaluation, or mitigation.
- Preferred: direct experience in AI safety or responsible AI research.
- Preferred: experience building evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or automated testing pipelines for ML models.
