Responsibilities
- Research credential lifecycle management and distributed credential synchronization.
- Design a secure architecture using a centralized credential store as the authoritative source.
- Implement a proof-of-concept credential rotation and synchronization engine.
- Develop declarative definitions for credentials, consumers, and rotation policies.
- Automate credential rotation while maintaining service continuity and supporting rollback scenarios.
- Detect and manage unauthorized or out-of-band credential modifications.
- Validate the solution under realistic failure conditions and contribute practical and scientific insights.
- Collaborate with DevOps, cybersecurity, and software development engineers.
Requirements
- Be a curious and motivated student with a strong analytical mindset and interest in complex technical problems.
- Demonstrate initiative, independent working ability, teamwork, and clear communication.
- Have a passion for software engineering and building scalable, reliable solutions.
- Experience or interest in HashiCorp Vault or other credential management platforms is advantageous.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, security architecture, threat modeling, CI/CD automation, DevOps tooling, distributed systems, or platform engineering is advantageous.
- Enrollment in a Master’s program in Computer Science is listed as an advantage.
