Base Salary
$182k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, reliable, and resilient distributed services using Python with FastAPI or Django for clinical and operational workflows.
- Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to define requirements, success metrics, and scalable backend solutions.
- Own backend systems and features from technical discovery through launch, iteration, reliability, and measurable product outcomes.
- Drive testing, monitoring, observability, performance optimization, code reviews, and technical design practices.
- Contribute to architectural vision and technical roadmaps while refining ambiguous problems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain production system reliability.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Require experience architecting, designing, and building scalable web applications and distributed systems.
- Require proficiency with Python, relational databases, FastAPI or Django, metrics instrumentation, and data-driven performance tuning using tools such as Datadog.
- Require experience delivering user-facing features with Product teams and driving measurable business impact.
- Require experience scaling complex, data-intensive backend systems in high-traffic engineering environments while maintaining performance and availability.
- Require strong understanding of distributed systems, data consistency, communication patterns, service boundaries, and production system ownership.
- Require strong product judgment, technical roadmap ownership, problem-solving ability, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Preferred experience includes telehealth or other highly regulated industries and decoupling monolithic applications into distributed asynchronous services.
