Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software solutions.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices for coding, code review, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI-generated engineering outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software implementations meet design constraints.
- Build the engineering stack for data and AI/ML products across data engineering, backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and MLOps.
- Design and implement data engineering solutions using modern big data technologies.
- Contribute to engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language, with experience using database query languages.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development and coaching engineers on compliant usage and output validation.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience designing and developing microservices, distributed systems, and data-intensive applications.
- Experience with cloud services, infrastructure as code, containerized application development, big data, and modern data engineering technologies.
- Practical experience developing production-scale cloud-native data engineering solutions in commercial environments.
- Familiarity with cloud data engineering services such as ETL, Glue, S3, Athena, and MLOps stacks.
- Ability to communicate design choices and results clearly to stakeholders from varied backgrounds.
- Preferred: experience with data, AWS, and AI/ML engineering, particularly in financial services.
- Preferred: experience with LLM applications or other AI/ML systems, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, MLOps, LLMs, RAG, knowledge graph technologies, OpenSearch, and vector databases.
- Preferred: experience collaborating with data scientists.
