Responsibilities
- Partner with primarily HR and other corporate teams to understand problems and rapidly ship dashboards, portals, web apps, reports, and integrations.
- Use Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and similar agentic development tools while applying engineering judgment to their output.
- Administer, optimize, and expand a multi-tenant Databricks platform for analytics and business intelligence needs.
- Teach non-technical stakeholders to build and maintain AI-assisted workflows through sessions, pairing, guidance, templates, and guardrails.
- Develop secure and maintainable solutions in collaboration with the product engineering team.
- Create technical notes, integration documentation, operational guides, and how-to documentation for non-technical audiences.
- Monitor and troubleshoot shipped tools, provide timely fixes, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Stay current with AI tooling and bring useful approaches back to the team.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, or a recent degree, diploma, or bootcamp qualification in a relevant field.
- Hands-on experience with agentic development harnesses and AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, plus familiarity with AGENTS.md, skills, and MCP servers.
- Understanding of software principles, programming fundamentals, source control, development lifecycles, automated testing, quality analysis, logging, metrics, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building modern web frontends with React or similar technologies and accompanying backend APIs.
- Familiarity with relational/SQL databases and NoSQL or key-value databases.
- Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, or Cloudflare and conceptual understanding of serverless systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for explaining technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of IT security, data sensitivity, and confidentiality.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada for the internship duration.
- Preferred experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, people data, recruiting, payroll, benefits systems, Cloudflare, AWS, Cloudflare Workers, Docker, DevContainers, Jira, Monday.com, open source, B2B, or SaaS companies.
