Responsibilities
- Define and evolve platform architectures across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security and software delivery domains.
- Design secure, resilient and scalable platforms for software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML and DevSecOps workloads.
- Establish architecture standards, patterns and reference designs.
- Design and assure CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code solutions and automated testing capabilities.
- Champion secure software supply chain practices, platform observability and operational monitoring.
- Provide tooling, services and engineering standards that enable efficient delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Align platform designs with Defence security requirements and accreditation standards.
- Produce technical documentation, assurance artefacts and evidence for platform approval.
- Provide architectural guidance, contribute to technical governance and shape platform roadmaps with customers and delivery teams.
Requirements
- Experience as a Platform Architect, Cloud Architect or Infrastructure Architect.
- Experience designing modern cloud platforms in Defence, complex enterprise or government environments.
- Strong understanding of security architecture and DevSecOps principles.
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands-on delivery support.
- Preferred: current high-level security clearance; eligibility requires British citizenship and permanent residence in the UK for the last five years.
- Ability to work from the customer site in Blandford two to three days per week.
