Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day application support for mission-critical Command-and-Control services.
Identify problems and potential resolutions for end users.
Analyze and resolve issues involving interfaces between system components.
Develop software enhancements and new functionality using mainframe technologies.
Apply technical solutions without adversely affecting the operational effectiveness of supported systems.
Communicate regularly with the client and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota for 24x7 application support.

Experience in application support, ideally with strong mainframe development skills.
Experience with COBOL and Unisys OS2200 mainframe technology.
Knowledge of DMS hierarchical databases and RDMS relational databases.
Understanding of Transaction Processing, TIP/HVTIP, or similar technologies.
Ability to develop technical solutions in a service-delivery environment while maintaining operational stability.
Strong interpersonal and client-communication skills.
ITIL understanding and previous public-sector experience are advantageous.
Must be eligible for and obtain and maintain Counter Terrorist Check clearance, requiring continuous UK residence for at least three years.

Client-site attendance is required three days per week.
Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota supports applications 24x7.
