Base Salary
$44k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, enhance, test, debug, and improve foundational software for Cisco networking platforms and intelligent devices.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to solve systems challenges and deliver dependable software components.
- Use scripting and development tools for test automation, build systems, and engineering workflows where applicable.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate associate or bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational programming and problem-solving skills in C or C++, including coursework or project experience with data structures, algorithms, and memory management.
- Understanding of operating systems concepts such as processes, threads, and concurrency, as well as basic TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing, and switching principles.
- Familiarity with software development workflows in Linux environments and Git version control.
- Preferred experience with Embedded Linux, POSIX system calls, device drivers, microcontroller programming, networking protocols, Wireshark or tcpdump, Python or Bash scripting, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, FPGA fundamentals, GDB, or JTAG.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills, technical curiosity, and ability to collaborate effectively in an engineering team.
