Responsibilities
- Provide architectural direction and technical coherence across data platform domains and squads.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape technical strategy and conduct structured technical discovery.
- Set and evolve engineering standards covering code quality, testing, CI/CD, security, and data governance.
- Provide technical oversight for data democratization and platform modernization initiatives.
- Mentor Senior and Mid-level engineers on complex cross-domain problems and architectural judgment.
- Represent data platform engineering in cross-functional architecture and technical forums.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tooling, including AI-augmented engineering approaches.
- Resolve ambiguous and high-impact technical problems spanning multiple domains or ownership boundaries.
Requirements
- Proven experience at Senior Data Engineer level or above, with end-to-end ownership of significant platform domains.
- Deep cross-cutting expertise with Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Python, RabbitMQ, Postgres, and AWS.
- Track record of driving architectural decisions adopted beyond an immediate team or domain.
- Experience conducting technical discovery and communicating outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to partner with product and engineering leadership with limited oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and uplift engineers through technical credibility and influence.
- Curiosity and rigor in evaluating emerging tools and approaches, including AI-augmented engineering.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
