Responsibilities
- Analyze existing application code and implement system enhancements using scripting tools.
- Design, develop, and support customer-facing data-driven applications across the software development lifecycle.
- Use SQL, Python, Java, ETL processes, and SQL Server to build and maintain application components and data workflows.
- Identify and remediate application vulnerabilities through security analysis, testing, and debugging.
- Diagnose and resolve application issues independently and implement lasting solutions.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology teams to translate business needs into programming solutions.
- Guide and coach junior analysts and share technical knowledge with the team.
- Assess technical risks and ensure application changes align with compliance standards and protect systems and clients.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in an applications development role within the financial services industry.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Java, ETL processes, and SQL Server.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement practical solutions with limited supervision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with data processing pipelines and ETL workflows in financial services or enterprise environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with application security practices, vulnerability assessment, and structured debugging is beneficial.
- Experience serving as a subject matter resource for senior stakeholders or cross-functional technology teams is beneficial.
