Responsibilities
- Lead applications systems analysis and programming activities for new and revised application systems.
- Build and enhance electronic trading, pricing, and distribution software for Citi’s global FX business.
- Design, develop, test, debug, implement, and support mission-critical distributed applications.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and management teams to deliver work items, enhancements, and project milestones.
- Identify, estimate, and implement solutions to system issues and business-process improvements.
- Provide development support for incidents and requests raised through support channels.
- Contribute to the product’s strategic technical direction and broader Markets Technology initiatives.
- Communicate project progress, promote achievements, and collaborate with front-office colleagues across locations and business lines.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts.
- Assess risks and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis, including extensive software application programming experience.
- At least 10 years of commercial Java development experience, including server-side Java development.
- Strong proficiency in core Java, including Java 17 and beyond.
- Experience designing and developing distributed systems using middleware and database products.
- Experience developing and supporting mission-critical applications in a mature, collaborative enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with SpringBoot, cloud-native technologies, Solace messaging middleware, low-latency programming, NoSQL databases, and Python or Groovy scripting.
- Expertise with Unix or Linux commands and scripting, Oracle databases, and source-control or collaboration tools.
- Understanding of enterprise application delivery, cloud deployment, and DevOps practices.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects, with demonstrated leadership, project management, analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of FX and the full pricing lifecycle is advantageous.
- Exposure to the regulatory environment affecting the banking industry is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s or undergraduate degree in a technical subject, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, adaptability, attention to detail, self-motivation, and willingness to contribute to the wider team.
