Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and development of cloud data infrastructure for real-time health operations dashboards and telematics analytics.
- Own the health operations dashboard platform, including real-time data aggregation, time-series analytics, and operational dashboards.
- Design and operate scalable Apache Spark and Scala data pipelines on Amazon EMR, orchestrated with Apache Airflow.
- Architect and operate Apache Cassandra clusters, including schema optimization, compaction, replication, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Design Amazon Kinesis and Apache Flink streaming pipelines for real-time health events, aggregation, and alerting.
- Own data quality, schema governance, retention policies, and observability across ingestion, streaming, batch, and query layers.
- Build highly available Java and Spring Boot services for health metric computation, data operations, and dashboard backends.
- Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, investigate production incidents, and drive technical strategy with partner teams.
Requirements
- Require 6–10 years of hands-on backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Require production Apache Cassandra experience covering data modeling, consistency tuning, compaction strategies, cluster operations, and troubleshooting.
- Require strong Apache Spark and Scala experience, including running Spark jobs on Amazon EMR with Apache Airflow.
- Require experience with Apache Flink or Amazon Kinesis streaming systems, including joins, windowing, aggregations, and latency optimization.
- Require strong PostgreSQL experience and understanding of polyglot data architectures.
- Require experience with AWS data services including S3, EMR, RDS, Glue, Kinesis, SQS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Require understanding of distributed systems concepts including retries, idempotency, fault tolerance, and eventual consistency.
- Require experience with real-time analytics systems or operational dashboards and the ability to debug complex production issues.
- Require experience mentoring engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include Cassandra capacity planning, monitoring, disaster recovery, data lakehouse or warehouse patterns using Iceberg or Delta Lake, and production operations with Jenkins, Docker, or Sentry.
- Preferred experience includes observability platforms such as Datadog or Splunk and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Require a B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
