Responsibilities
- Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain version control, build, and continuous integration systems.
- Build, maintain, and document Development, Testing, Staging, and Production environments with development and QA teams.
- Maintain, monitor, and scale virtual machine and database deployments, including replication.
- Write and deploy automation scripts to maintain services and analyze system metrics.
- Assist with moving applications to public and private cloud CI/CD environments.
- Monitor application, performance, event, and system logs and troubleshoot configuration and infrastructure issues.
- Plan, execute, and test disaster recovery procedures and manage application and database backups.
- Handle IT and colocation tickets, coordinate with third-party support services, evaluate new technologies, and document procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience in system administration, systems engineering, or a DevOps-related role with strong Linux experience.
- Hands-on experience with at least three of Linux, databases, globalization or translation memory systems, Java, PHP, Python, Perl, regular expressions, or RESTful APIs.
- Experience writing automation scripts in Python or shell scripting.
- Development experience with SQL databases and MongoDB.
- Experience maintaining, monitoring, and scaling virtual machines, database servers, monitoring platforms, backups, and virtualized resources.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and time-management skills, with fluent spoken English.
- Basic software developer background and willingness to learn new skills.
- Preferred familiarity with Agile methodology, MariaDB, MongoDB, proxy servers, network security, the ELK Stack, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, canary deployments, A/B deployments, and infrastructure-as-code.
