Responsibilities
- Build and maintain standardized, reusable platforms using GitOps, blueprints, and infrastructure as code.
- Operate and troubleshoot OpenShift, Kubernetes, OpenShift Operators, and service mesh environments.
- Design and operate services across complex multi-cloud and hybrid ecosystems with an understanding of distributed systems.
- Implement and maintain observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Tempo.
- Manage GitOps-oriented CI/CD pipelines and support customer project and foundational requirements.
- Participate in a regular on-call rota supporting Critical National Infrastructure.
- Mentor team members, promote SRE best practices, and contribute to Capgemini offerings.
Requirements
- Proven Site Reliability Engineering operations experience with hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes experience.
- Experience supporting OpenShift Operators including ServiceMesh, ODF, ACS, ACM, and AMQ, as well as Istio service mesh.
- Experience designing and operating complex multi-cloud or hybrid environments and understanding distributed systems.
- Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, EDB Postgres, Bash, and Python.
- Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure as code with Kustomize or Helm.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, ArgoCD, or FluxCD in a GitOps fashion.
- Experience with Submariner networking and secure environments is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management and Advanced Cluster Security for governance and compliance.
- Strong mentoring skills and the ability to develop team members’ capabilities are highly desired.
- Security Check (SC) clearance is required, including continuous UK residence for the last five years; some posts may be restricted to sole UK Nationals.
- CKA or CKS certification is advantageous.
