Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and build testing software from component qualification through full integrated-system validation.
- Architect hardware-in-the-loop and simulation environments for firmware and controls testing under realistic conditions and failure scenarios.
- Develop automated test execution, operator interfaces, data acquisition, visualization, storage, and analysis software.
- Design and integrate electrical and controls infrastructure including PCBs, DAQs, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial communication networks.
- Partner with firmware, electrical, mechanical, controls, and systems engineers to develop testing capabilities.
- Build one-off laboratory test systems and evolve successful designs into scalable engineering infrastructure.
- Establish the architecture and engineering patterns for Endurance’s testing ecosystem.
- Help shape the test infrastructure organization, including interviewing and onboarding future engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Rust, C++, C, or similar languages.
- Demonstrated ability to ship production software end-to-end from architecture through deployment and operation.
- Experience building software for hardware systems, including automated testing, hardware-in-the-loop, industrial controls, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or other complex electromechanical products.
- Technical fluency sufficient to work credibly with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineers.
- Ability to work onsite in Seattle and travel to deployment sites as required.
- Familiarity with Rust and Nix is preferred.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop environments is preferred.
- Experience developing simulation or emulation software for embedded or controls applications is preferred.
- Experience with industrial automation platforms such as PLCs, DAQs, VFDs, National Instruments, Beckhoff, or Siemens is preferred.
- Familiarity with EtherCAT, CAN, Modbus, or OPC UA is preferred.
- Experience designing data acquisition and telemetry systems for hardware development is preferred.
- Background in aerospace, robotics, automotive, energy, defense, or other fast-paced hardware industries is preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience wiring sensors, debugging electrical systems, integrating instrumentation, and bringing up test hardware is preferred.
- Experience building internal engineering infrastructure that enables other engineers to move faster is preferred.
