Base Salary
$230k - $385k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, reliable, and performant databases.
- Design and build simple, intuitive APIs for the underlying database.
- Analyze and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
- Debug, instrument, and fix system issues while delivering long-term solutions.
- Define technical strategy and guide robust infrastructure development for high-scale production systems.
- Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Build internal tools and systems that improve engineering productivity.
- Own system reliability, including participation in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
- Foster an inclusive team culture and encourage diverse perspectives.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years leading large-scale, complex projects or technical initiatives as an engineer or tech lead.
- Strong passion for building distributed systems at scale with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in systems programming and hands-on experience with multithreading and concurrency.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python is highly preferred.
- Domain experience in databases, large-scale data systems, storage, caching, search, or other distributed infrastructure components is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
