Lead Software Engineer - Regulatory Reporting

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and improve the Last Mile Reporting platform architecture and infrastructure.
- Develop, review, debug, test, and maintain secure, high-quality production code using Python, Java, and related technologies.
- Apply AI tools, prompt engineering, agent-based workflows, and automation to improve development, operations, documentation, testing, and recurring-effort reduction.
- Evaluate architecture options, data flows, controls, integrations, and AI-enabled tools with technology, product, and reporting stakeholders.
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, agent building, and secure and responsible technology practices.
- Support application deployment, monitoring, reliability, resiliency, and operational stability for complex reporting applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience delivering and supporting enterprise technology platforms.
- Production experience building and supporting regulatory and/or financial reporting applications.
- Strong understanding of application, platform, and data architecture, scalable infrastructure, integration patterns, reliability, resiliency, and operational support.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or other mainstream programming languages and high-quality software development.
- Experience with system design, application development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational stability.
- Practical experience using AI tools to improve software engineering productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and platform operations.
- Experience creating, refining, and evaluating prompts for engineering, documentation, analysis, and workflow automation.
- Experience designing or building AI-enabled workflows, assistants, or agents for development, data analysis, reporting, or operations.
- Strong cloud architecture and infrastructure knowledge, including AWS, Kubernetes, containerized deployment, application security, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including data modeling, reporting data flows, data quality, reconciliations, and controls.
- Basic understanding of financial and regulatory concepts, reporting requirements, controls, data lineage, and financial data interpretation.
- Preferred experience with Axiom ControllerView or similar regulatory reporting platforms, financial services technology, regulatory change, audit and control processes, reporting modernization, Databricks, machine learning, large language models, or agent frameworks.
