Responsibilities

  • Help build and improve observability for applications running on AWS using tools such as Dynatrace and PagerDuty.
  • Create dashboards, alerts, and metrics that provide real-time insight into application performance and system reliability.
  • Support automated alerting workflows integrated with Slack.
  • Shadow and support incident response activities to help detect, resolve, and prevent system issues.
  • Write scripts and automation to reduce repetitive operational work.
  • Collaborate with site reliability engineers, DevOps engineers, and software developers.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree program in computer science, MIS, or a related field is required.
  • Basic knowledge of or experience with AWS or another cloud platform is required.
  • Basic knowledge of or experience with Windows or Linux server administration, networking, or infrastructure is required.
  • Classroom or professional experience with one or more of Python, Bash, PowerShell, Terraform, Docker, Amazon ECS, or GitHub is required.
  • Exposure to Dynatrace, Grafana, or PagerDuty is preferred.
  • Applicants must attend a college or university within 80 miles of San Francisco, California.
  • Preferred graduation dates are August 2027 through May 2028, with consideration for 2029 graduates.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Benefits

  • Full-time paid summer 2027 internship paying $45 to $50 per hour.
  • Work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
  • Potential to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year, depending on business demands.
  • Work onsite at Gallup’s San Francisco office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Friday.
