Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement simulation software for testing and verifying TeraWave flight software.
- Develop scalable simulation environments deployable across software-only, hardware-in-the-loop, real-time, and spacecraft AI&T platforms.
- Integrate simulation environments and models for nominal and off-nominal operational scenarios.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, autonomy, and test engineers on requirements, interfaces, and subsystem behavior.
- Perform software integration, verification, and validation testing in SIL and HIL environments.
- Support on-orbit operations and troubleshooting of deployed spacecraft.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical team development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in spacecraft software, simulation software, or embedded software development.
- Experience architecting and developing simulation environments for flight or embedded systems.
- Ability to lead the technical architecture of a complex software system.
- Understanding of deterministic lockstep simulation, synchronization, repeatability, and representative models.
- Knowledge of GN&C sensor and actuator modeling, including IMUs, star trackers, magnetometers, reaction wheel assemblies, and magnetic torque rods.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Understanding of object-oriented problem solving and modular software layering.
- Experience with Google Test or equivalent unit-testing frameworks for embedded C/C++ environments.
- Experience with IPC mechanisms such as sockets, shared memory, message queues, or publish-subscribe middleware.
- Experience with software lifecycle practices, Git, CI/CD, and containerized environments.
- Experience with verification and validation for mission-critical embedded software systems.
- Understanding of spacecraft flight software and hardware interfaces including discrete I/O, TCP/IP, UDP, CAN, I2C, SPI, and RS-422/485.
- Familiarity with static analysis tools and MISRA C/C++ coding standards.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience with NASA Trick, orbital mechanics, propagation models, CCSDS standards, RTOS, onboard time management, precision timing, GPS-disciplined synchronization, NASA cFS, and spacecraft FDIR concepts.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
