Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance critical mainframe applications.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, resolve defects, and maintain application reliability and performance.
- Support testing, validation, deployments, post-deployment activities, disaster recovery exercises, and critical production events.
- Collaborate with business partners, product managers, architects, and engineering teams on delivery, technical stories, estimates, prioritization, risks, and dependencies.
- Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort, risk, and cost.
- Apply code reviews, unit testing, secure coding, source code management, CI/CD, and maintainable design practices.
- Own solutions through the full lifecycle and continuously improve codebases for maintainability, performance, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to use AI, generative AI, ML, intelligent automation, and AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- 8-12 years of experience.
- Strong expertise with Mainframe, SAS, Assembler, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Easytrieve, and CICS.
- Experience with software development, testing, production support, CI/CD deployments, incident management, and automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, accountability, and ownership skills.
- Willingness to support project, deployment, maintenance, production, and disaster recovery activities outside normal working hours when required.
- A four-year bachelor's degree is preferred, with an equivalent combination of education and experience potentially considered in lieu of the education requirement.
- Secondary experience with Python, GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, Microsoft Fabric, or AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
Benefits

- Preferred work location is Bengaluru, India, with ANA/ANI also acceptable.
- No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.
