Responsibilities

  • Write clean, consistent, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Implement, test, and maintain software for internal and external customers.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, generate and review code, troubleshoot issues, and accelerate development.
  • Evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated code and technical outputs.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve existing ground-system and web applications.
  • Assist with deploying, integrating, and testing software applications.
  • Explore applications of AI and machine learning to software engineering and mission problems.
  • Document and present work and technical findings.

Requirements

  • Currently pursue a degree in computer science, computer engineering, computational physics, applied mathematics, engineering, data science, space science, or a related technical field.
  • Be an undergraduate junior or senior student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Have programming experience in C#, C++, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Have experience using AI-assisted coding or software development tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand, evaluate, debug, and modify code, including AI-assisted code.
  • Have experience with web application development, embedded development, or similar software projects.
  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include AI or machine learning coursework, projects, research, or practical experience; Python and AI/ML library or framework experience; experience with LLMs, APIs, agents, RAG, or other AI capabilities; and version-control or collaborative software development experience.
