Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain multi-component embedded software and firmware for neural implant systems.
- Write performant and understandable Rust.
- Improve software reliability, latency, memory usage, power consumption, and real-time performance.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and work prioritization.
- Write architecture decisions, API references, troubleshooting guides, and other technical documentation.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C++, Go, or Rust.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, including power and memory constraints, complexity and cost tradeoffs, live-system debugging with JTAG or serial, and cross-stack engineering collaboration.
- Experience with build tools such as Make or CMake.
- Experience building low-level software running in Linux.
- Preferred: experience interpreting schematics and datasheets.
- Preferred: experience developing software under an RTOS or bare metal.
- Preferred: experience with Yocto or Buildroot.
- Preferred: understanding of OTA updates and secure boot.
- Preferred: experience with quality management systems or projects in medical device development, aviation, finance, or defense.
