Responsibilities
- Modernize the monolithic Rails application into a modular system with clear domain boundaries and a coherent public interface.
- Design and build solutions aligned with the organization’s technical vision.
- Develop across the Rails backend, React and TypeScript frontend, and PostgreSQL database layer.
- Handle complex PostgreSQL queries and improve backend performance, flexibility, scalability, and security.
- Maintain and develop APIs using REST or GraphQL.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX teams on user-focused solutions and large-scale initiatives.
- Communicate complex technical problems and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders through discussions and design documents.
- Anticipate technical risks in major projects and design solutions to address them.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable work experience.
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience.
- Preferred experience with Ruby on Rails backend development and React or Angular frontend development.
- Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, Test Driven Development, service-oriented architecture, and design principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of web development processes including development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience maintaining and developing REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
