Base Salary
$180k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical evaluations of emerging AI/ML technologies through prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and experimentation.
- Analyze and communicate technology benefits, tradeoffs, risks, experiment results, and architectural recommendations.
- Design, develop, deploy, train, evaluate, and optimize production AI/ML applications and models in AWS cloud environments.
- Support AI/ML application development across development, operations, and security disciplines in cloud-native environments.
- Drive enterprise adoption of modern AI technologies and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate directly with federal clients and cross-functional engineering teams on mission-critical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and support the professional growth of junior team members.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to internal leadership and federal customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 7–10 years of professional software engineering or cloud engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience deploying production enterprise applications in AWS.
- At least 2 years of experience deploying production AI/ML applications in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch and AI/ML platforms or services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Hugging Face, or Weights & Biases.
- Strong experience using pandas for data analysis and manipulation and matplotlib for experiment-result visualization.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and contribute across multiple projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, presentation, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Preferred experience leading or managing engineering teams, mentoring software or machine learning engineers, and working with LLMs, generative AI, RAG, AI agents, MLOps, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, secure software development, or federal and highly regulated environments.
