Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead or coordinate the activities of other engineers on projects or systems and determine their technical tasks.
- Build and improve cloud, PaaS, CaaS, and container platforms supporting development and production workloads.
- Develop automation, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting to reduce time to detect and time to resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot and fix platform and production issues, support developer and operations teams, and help resolve failed customer interactions.
- Improve platform tools, processes, production topologies, architectures, reliability, performance, and engineering standards.
- Support 24/7/365 on-call operations personnel.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant development experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expertise in Golang and expertise in Java or C/C++.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi and automation.
- Expertise in shell scripting and strong Linux systems knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of Docker or containerd.
- Deep understanding and working knowledge of at least one of ZooKeeper, etcd, or Consul.
- Working knowledge of at least one cluster manager: Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems principles.
- Experience building massively scalable, high-performance services and highly available production platforms supporting no-downtime rollouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify performance bottlenecks; open-source contributions are a plus.

- Expected base pay is $176,500.00-$262,350.00 annually in San Jose, California, or $160,500.00-$238,700.00 annually in Austin, Texas.
