Base Salary
$154k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Advise early-stage founders on right-sized architectures that can grow with their businesses.
- Prototype solutions, build reference patterns, and demo working systems alongside founders.
- Analyze and improve architectures generated by coding agents, explaining their decisions and tradeoffs.
- Guide startups in selecting foundation models and AI services and shipping production-ready GenAI products.
- Advise on GenAI application challenges including cost, latency, accuracy, safety, and best practices.
- Support pragmatic build-and-scale decisions while product direction is being validated.
- Experiment with new models, agent frameworks, and emerging tools to maintain technical expertise.
- Build relationships with accelerators, incubators, venture capital firms, and the broader startup ecosystem.
- Represent founder needs to AWS product and engineering teams and translate emerging trends into product roadmap input.
- Share expertise at startup events, demo days, and developer meetups.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics.
- 2+ years of experience designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructure.
- Experience designing and building applications using AWS services such as Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, and Kubernetes.
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts to technical and business audiences.
- Hands-on experience building with GenAI, including foundation models, agents, RAG, or fine-tuning, in prototype or production settings.
- Preferred: experience as a startup founder, founding engineer, or early engineer at a pre-Series A company.
- Preferred: fluency with Claude Code, Codex, and similar agentic coding tools.
- Preferred: experience shipping production GenAI applications and managing model cost, latency, accuracy, and safety.
- Preferred: depth in at least one technical or industry domain paired with broad full-stack fluency.
- Preferred: experience building AI data foundations such as vector databases, data pipelines, or retrieval systems.
