Base Salary

$82k - $172k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Deliver production-ready RAG pipelines, conversational AI platforms, and multi-agent systems in 1–2-month rotational engagements.
  • Build and customize AI solutions using vector databases, orchestration frameworks, managed AI services, and observability practices.
  • Integrate LLM APIs and AI services into existing workflows across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Implement responsible AI guardrails, monitoring, alerting, security controls, and cost controls.
  • Troubleshoot RESTful and event-driven integrations and resolve operational issues.
  • Lead hands-on training, documentation, pair programming, and knowledge-transfer activities.
  • Improve solution templates and create reusable patterns based on field experience.
  • Validate that teams can independently operate and evolve deployed AI applications.
  • Evaluate emerging GenAI tools and share findings through demonstrations and documentation.

Requirements

  • Requires 3–5 years of experience building production applications with Python or JavaScript, Git workflows, and modern development practices.
  • Requires practical experience with LLM-powered applications, agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and observability concepts.
  • Requires experience monitoring AI performance, addressing latency, cost, quality, and failure modes, and applying responsible AI practices such as bias detection and guardrails.
  • Requires a strong background designing, implementing, and troubleshooting RESTful and event-driven integrations.
  • Requires experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization; CI/CD; infrastructure-as-code concepts; and secure API and key management.
  • Requires an understanding of basic ML concepts and their application to LLM systems.
  • Requires the ability to deliver quickly in unfamiliar environments, make trade-offs under pressure, and prioritize working solutions.
  • Requires strong communication, documentation, teaching, and knowledge-transfer abilities.
  • Requires experience with GitLab, Jira, and iterative delivery practices.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include agentic AI deployment, observability tools, vector databases, guardrails, embeddings, structured outputs, AWS Bedrock/GovCloud, Azure OpenAI, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, React, FastAPI, client engagements, federal or DoD missions, ATO, NIST, open-source work, technical writing, conference speaking, Security+, AWS certifications, or other relevant technical credentials.
