Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and operating a threat modeling program.
  • Support risk management, audit, and governance activities.
  • Help secure cloud systems and on-premise servers and hardware.
  • Investigate network issues and security vulnerabilities to identify root causes.
  • Write basic automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Use security tools in lab environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend patches.

Requirements

  • Meet one Nevada-based qualification path: two years of hands-on networking, security, or computer science experience while enrolled in a Nevada higher education institution or trade school/certification program, or at least two years of Nevada college or trade school coursework toward a related degree or certificate.
  • Understand computer networking and be able to write a basic script or program.
  • Have hands-on experience with labs such as network simulators, coding sites, or cybersecurity capture-the-flag platforms.
  • Demonstrate motivation to learn, self-direction, teamwork, and a history of achieving personal goals.
