Responsibilities
- Support the worldwide development and application of connectivity and telemetry products and services for motorsport applications.
- Deploy to race tracks and customer sites to configure telemetry servers, wireless radio connections, and data-analysis dashboards.
- Diagnose and resolve software, connectivity, and system-level issues and participate in an on-call rotation for race events.
- Collect and clarify customer requirements, manage project timelines, and provide technical application support for telemetry gateway and cloud services.
- Validate customer, component, and system requirements through Hardware-in-the-Loop bench testing and cloud system testing.
- Develop and optimize internal workflow tools and scripts using MATLAB, Python, C#, or similar languages.
- Provide on-site technical support through approximately 40–60 days of domestic and international travel per year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- At least 1 year of industry-relevant application-engineering experience, including academic or industry experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with industry-standard data-acquisition and data-analysis software.
- Experience in professional motorsport, significant collegiate racing such as Formula SAE or EcoCAR, or an equivalent high-performance environment.
- Preferred knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP networking models, wired and wireless networking, TCP, UDP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, cellular communications, CAN, and embedded systems.
- Preferred experience with hardware configuration, communication software, Linux or Windows command-line environments, cloud services, containerized applications, and data-stream processing.
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, MQTT, Grafana, SQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, InfluxDB, Python, MATLAB, C#, Wireshark, CANalyzer, oscilloscopes, or spectrum analyzers.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and perform system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, software debugging, and vehicle-level diagnostics.
- Knowledge of internal-combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric vehicle systems, including powertrain, chassis, or controls development.
- Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, independence, adaptability, and willingness to travel are expected.
