Responsibilities
- Monitor production availability and take a holistic view of system health.
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- Automate processes and create sustainable systems and services that improve reliability and reduce disruptions.
- Gather and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance tuning and fault-finding.
- Partner with development teams to improve services and contribute to system design, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Measure and optimize system performance while balancing delivery speed and reliability against service-level objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in similar positions, such as Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer.
- Ability to program using structured and object-oriented programming in one or more high-level languages, such as Java, JavaScript, and Python.
- Expertise in cloud computing technologies, particularly AWS.
- Solid knowledge and experience with Kubernetes administration, optimization, and CRDs.
- Proficiency with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- A proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- AWS vendor certification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Experience in a Java-based development environment is beneficial.
- Fluent English; working knowledge of German is advantageous.
