Base Salary
$254k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the end-to-end trading platform, including the sequencer, low-latency connectivity and messaging fabric, OMS/EMS, multi-venue connectivity, and execution.
- Design low-latency, high-throughput systems for real-time financial products serving institutional and retail markets.
- Own reliability, SLOs, observability, and incident response for 24/7 trading systems.
- Set technical standards through code, design reviews, and technical-debt prioritization.
- Reduce single points of failure and build team resilience through mentorship.
- Partner with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance to turn technical vision into a roadmap.
- Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Requirements
- Extensive backend engineering experience and ownership of complex, production-grade distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience architecting an end-to-end trading platform spanning OMS, front office, middle office, and multi-exchange connectivity.
- Deep proficiency in low-latency Java and high-throughput messaging technologies such as Aeron, SBE, or similar.
- Experience designing event-driven, highly available systems and delivering projects from scoping through architecture, implementation, monitoring, and iteration.
- Experience building systems in regulated or financial environments where correctness, auditability, and low-latency performance are critical.
- Experience making user-facing product decisions that balance engineering trade-offs with end-user quality, supported by shipped products.
- Ability to design, build, deploy, and support 24/7 trading systems processing billions of dollars in daily transactions.
