Responsibilities
- Implement and train state-of-the-art machine learning models and optimise them for performance, accuracy, and scalability across systems comprising thousands of accelerators.
- Benchmark and profile ML models to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Develop deep understanding across the software stack to optimise kernel implementations.
- Test and evaluate new internal software releases, provide feedback, make code fixes, and conduct code reviews.
- Design, conduct, and report on experiments involving novel AI methods.
- Collaborate with Research, Software, and Product teams to define, build, and test next-generation AI hardware.
- Engage with the AI community and stay current with developments in AI.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Maths, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Strong Python or C++ software development skills.
- Expertise in hardware-accelerated deep learning spanning model training, optimisation, and evaluation.
- Ability to design, execute, and report on ML experiments.
- Strong understanding of performance bottlenecks and methods to overcome them.
- Desirable experience with MLOps for Kubernetes-based clusters, production systems using large language models, or efficient computing with low-precision arithmetic.
- Desirable experience writing C++, Triton, or CUDA kernels for ML model performance optimisation.
- Desirable experience with distributed ML training or inference across 64 or more accelerators.
- Familiarity with HPC systems and networking technologies including InfiniBand, NVLink, and RoCE, as well as cloud computing platforms.
- Open-source contributions or relevant research publications are desirable.
- Interest in presenting, publishing, and delivering talks in the AI community.
