Base Salary
$120k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the primary application running on Hark’s hardware device from architecture through production deployment.
- Build and optimize Android software that interfaces with embedded systems, sensors, firmware, and hardware.
- Write software that runs on the physical device across application and firmware layers.
- Collaborate with hardware, embedded software, and AI teams on an integrated product experience.
- Manage flashing, OTA updates, boot sequences, and device provisioning.
- Debug across the Android stack, including framework issues and hardware-level communication protocols.
- Drive software from development through manufacturing and delivery to users.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills for translating cross-functional requirements into designs.
- 5+ years of Android development experience, ideally with embedded or custom hardware devices.
- Strong system-level understanding of Android, including AOSP, system services, HAL, native libraries, and device drivers.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, firmware integration, or low-level hardware/software interfaces.
- Experience shipping a physical product with reliable production software.
- Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, and USB communication protocols.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and C or C++.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across hardware, firmware, and product decisions.
Benefits
- Full-time position with a US base salary range of $120,000–$300,000 annually.
- Additional compensation components and benefits may be included depending on the specific role.
- Bonus experience includes Android Things, AOSP board bring-up, custom Android device builds, robotics, consumer electronics, IoT hardware, RTOS, hybrid RTOS/Linux environments, edge AI/ML deployment, and Android platform analysis.
