Senior Lead Software Engineer – Network Test Automation Platform

- Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Drive adoption, governance, validation standards, and reuse of approved AI-assisted engineering practices and automation across the software development lifecycle.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and approved AI-assisted development capabilities to improve automation at scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Analyze complex systems and data, anticipate issues, mitigate risk, and implement platform changes and modernization efforts.
- Engineer infrastructure according to business requirements and drive multiple complex programs.
- Provide thought leadership within the product line and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Deploy and use telemetry and observability tools to improve visibility into service offerings.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Knowledge of infrastructure engineering across areas such as networking, databases, storage, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance.
- Deep knowledge of multiple infrastructure technologies and scripting languages, including Python, JavaScript, YAML, JSON, and Bash.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- Knowledge of on-premises and remote data center technologies and operations.
- Strong experience with operating system and hypervisor platforms including Hyper-V, ESXi, KVM, VMware, and OpenShift.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, optimization, observability, telemetry, and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security expectations, and coaching engineers on compliant usage.
- Experience with AWS or Azure on Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Ansible, and Puppet for configuration management and deployment.
- Preferred: knowledge of 40/100/400G Ethernet, CWDM, DWDM, optical transport, switch ASICs, network hardware, structured cabling, and fiber-optic cabling.
- Preferred: experience with BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, MPLS, RSVP-TE, IS-IS, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, IPv4, and IPv6.
