Responsibilities

  • Own the vehicle platform end-to-end, including networking, time synchronization, sensor selection and drivers, middleware integration, embedded software, drive-by-wire, and low-level controls actuation.
  • Architect and deliver full-system platform capabilities from 0-to-1 prototypes through reliable production systems deployed on heavy machinery.
  • Integrate work from electrical, middleware, firmware, hardware, and other internal teams into cohesive, customer-ready platforms.
  • Work directly with customers to identify use cases, define platform requirements, and drive field integrations through successful deployment.
  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple engineers and cross-functional efforts, set technical direction, and manage dependencies.
  • Design and bring up test rigs and validation infrastructure for end-to-end system testing, hardware-in-the-loop verification, and on-vehicle validation.
  • Debug, test, and troubleshoot interactions across sensors, timing, networks, actuation, and controls in harsh real-world environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors and drivers, networking and time synchronization, middleware such as ROS 2 or DDS, and embedded systems.
  • Strong C/C++ development experience on Linux, including debugging and testing complex real-time systems.
  • Experience with vehicle actuation and low-level controls, including drive-by-wire systems and controller integration.
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems and how to set up, instrument, and debug them.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize work across multiple engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, off-road vehicles, agriculture, mining, or construction equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with CAN, J1939, LIN, Ethernet/TSN, PTP/gPTP, AUTOSAR, and other automotive or industrial communication technologies is preferred.
  • Experience taking robotic systems from prototype to production, including safety considerations and release processes, is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded-target CI/CD, direct customer interaction, firmware development, microcontroller-based systems, electrical or harness design, CAD/3D printing, or PCB design is preferred.
