Responsibilities
- Develop flight recorder software using C, C++, and Python.
- Participate in requirements definition, design, coding, testing, and engineering documentation across the software development lifecycle in accordance with RTCA DO-178C.
- Design, execute, and evaluate simulator-based software tests for data streaming functionality.
- Follow, oversee, and refine software design methodologies and coding best practices.
- Collect stakeholder requirements and communicate issues to engineering, business, supplier, customer, and partner stakeholders.
- Coordinate timely resolution of customer and team issues.
- Support Recorders COE initiatives, long-term strategies, and product roadmaps.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation cockpit voice and flight data recorders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Senior-level skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Proven experience with VxWorks or another real-time operating system.
- Hands-on experience with PKI infrastructure, key management, certificate lifecycles, and trust chains.
- Practical knowledge of X.509 digital certificates, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Familiarity with RTCA DO-178C development principles.
- Experience with aviation data standards such as ARINC 717, ARINC 429, and ARINC 767 is valued.
- Experience with real-time or performance-critical software systems is valued.
- Knowledge of Ethernet, PCIe, USB, and LVDS high-speed serial interfaces is valued.
- Experience with Atlassian tools and Agile environments is valued.
- English communication skills at B2 to C1 level, along with strong written, oral, organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, learn new technologies, and pursue a long-term professional career in Honeywell Aerospace.
