Responsibilities
- Set architectural direction across Securities, Custody & Inbound Data and connect long-term architecture with team-level solution decisions.
- Create system-landscape overviews covering critical data flows, dependencies, risks, and technical debt.
- Develop and anchor pragmatic target and transition architectures for complex legacy modernization.
- Use domain modeling and BIAN principles to clarify domain boundaries and candidates for gradual separation.
- Advise on integration, APIs, data sharing, third-party solutions, resilience, disaster recovery, and other non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate design reviews and lightweight, documented architectural decision processes.
- Prioritize two to three concrete modernization tracks and help teams implement architectural decisions without taking over their solution ownership.
- Build trust with technical teams and leaders through clear communication, constructive challenge, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Solid technical background with experience as a Domain Architect, Solution Architect, Tech Lead, or Senior Developer.
- Experience working with complex, business-critical legacy systems and modernization or migration initiatives.
- Experience with several of the following: modern modular or service-based application architecture, integration architecture, APIs, messaging, event-based patterns, Domain-Driven Design, bounded contexts, container platforms, and modern data and analytics platforms.
- Ability to create followership without formal authority and communicate clearly with both executives and technical specialists.
- Ability to balance architectural direction with operational stability, realistic implementation, costs, risks, quality, and technical debt.
- Mainframe experience is not required; experience from finance, insurance, pensions, aviation, healthcare, or other complex environments is relevant.
