Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end architectures for smart home and connected IoT solutions.
  • Design cloud-native architectures using Microsoft Azure services and IoT platform capabilities.
  • Architect smart video doorbells, cameras, locks, sensors, security devices, and Matter-enabled products.
  • Drive interoperability across Matter, Thread, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, MQTT, and cloud-based integrations.
  • Design secure device onboarding, provisioning, authentication, commissioning, remote management, and device lifecycle processes.
  • Develop scalable video streaming and event-processing architectures for doorbell and surveillance systems.
  • Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices with engineering teams.
  • Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with product management, firmware, mobile, cloud, QA, DevOps, third-party partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor technical teams and provide architectural leadership across multiple programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in IoT and connected-device ecosystems.
  • 5+ years of architecture experience in smart home or consumer IoT products.
  • Strong experience designing and deploying connected IoT products and commercial smart home solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Matter, Thread, Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, MQTT, device provisioning, and remote device management.
  • Strong expertise with Azure IoT and Azure cloud services, including Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Central, Azure Digital Twins, Azure Event Hub, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Storage Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure API Management.
  • Experience with video doorbells, surveillance cameras, motion detection, video analytics, video streaming, RTSP, WebRTC, cloud video storage, edge AI, and event-driven architectures.
  • Expertise in IoT security architecture, device identity management, PKI, certificates, secure boot, firmware signing, encryption, secure communications, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, API design, and edge-to-cloud architecture.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, Azure Architect or Azure IoT certifications, cloud or security certifications, embedded Linux or RTOS experience, camera image-processing experience, and experience with Qualcomm, NXP, Silicon Labs, Nordic, or ESP32 platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical leadership capabilities.
