Responsibilities
- Define architecture and solution designs for Java-based enterprise applications.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable solutions and lead design reviews.
- Guide Java development, API and service integrations, code quality, testing, performance, and maintainability practices.
- Support telecom customer care and billing workflows including customer management, order processing, provisioning, billing, payments, and customer care.
- Modernize applications, reduce technical debt, plan future-state architecture, and improve production stability.
- Provide architectural guidance during incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and production support.
- Design and automate CI/CD processes and support APIs, scripting, DevOps, and AI-assisted development initiatives.
- Build integrations between mainframe and distributed or open-system platforms.
- Mentor senior developers and technical leads and promote end-to-end technical ownership.
- Collaborate with customers, business stakeholders, product owners, engineering leads, and globally distributed teams on requirements, dependencies, and delivery progress.
- Support Agile work management including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, reviews, retrospectives, and Azure DevOps tracking.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software development experience with deep Java expertise.
- 5+ years of experience in architecture, technical leadership, or equivalent senior engineering roles.
- Experience designing and supporting high-volume applications and mission-critical production systems.
- Experience with enterprise integrations and telecom billing, customer care, or comparable enterprise-domain systems.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, relational databases, Git, Maven or Gradle, and unit testing.
- Experience with CI/CD design and automation using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Chef.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell scripting or programming.
- Knowledge of APIs, service-oriented architecture, automated testing, code quality, maintainability, Agile practices, and system integration.
- Familiarity with High-Level Assembler, CICS, DB2, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, observability, logging, monitoring, and application security.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, communicate with stakeholders, assess risks, plan technical roadmaps, and work with globally distributed teams.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for work items, user stories, bugs, sprint boards, and delivery tracking.
- Ability to support AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Glean.
