Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize high-performance Java systems for pricing, risk, and trading.
- Build and enhance low-latency, high-throughput trading architecture components using concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning techniques.
- Design scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems and contribute to architecture decisions across the trading and risk platform.
- Build monitoring, maintenance, and performance-diagnostics tooling.
- Collaborate with quants, financial engineering, front-office, and business operations teams.
- Support live trading systems and troubleshoot time-critical production issues.
- Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices, clean code, and robust design patterns.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on Java development experience in low-latency financial systems.
- Deep understanding of performance optimization, concurrency, and JVM internals.
- Experience with pricing, risk, or electronic trading platforms.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another numerate discipline.
- Knowledge of FIX protocol, order routing, and broker connectivity is beneficial.
- Experience across asset classes such as FX, equities, commodities, or derivatives is preferred.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced front-office trading environment.
