Base Salary
$150k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as usage and team size grow.
- Design and implement zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollback.
- Build and maintain Terraform modules used by engineering for infrastructure changes.
- Lead production capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Build observability using Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch.
- Manage GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Own networking and traffic routing decisions, including load balancing and DNS.
- Develop alerting strategies, on-call runbooks, dashboards, database monitoring, metrics, and instrumentation as needed.
- Design and manage RBAC across AWS and Kubernetes and support integrations such as Okta SSO.
- Author AGENTS.md files and DNA scaffolding that encode engineering conventions and guide AI review bots.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Deep AWS expertise, including EKS, VPC, S3, RDS/Aurora, and the Well-Architected Framework.
- Production Kubernetes experience, including cluster administration and multi-environment management.
- Extensive Terraform experience, including module development and state management.
- Production experience with CNCF tooling such as Helm and Karpenter.
- Experience building GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and implementing automated rollback strategies.
- Experience using Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch to diagnose production issues.
- Strong networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing.
- Experience managing asynchronous job processing and message queues at scale.
- Scripting and automation experience with Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
- Track record of capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management.
- Familiarity with authoring AGENTS.md files and DNA scaffolding.
- Preferred experience designing alerting strategies, on-call runbooks, real-time service health dashboards, RDS Postgres monitoring, custom metrics and instrumentation, application profiling, Cloudflare WAF, Okta SSO, and AWS/Kubernetes RBAC.
