Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and development of customer-facing dashboards and internal tools.
- Consolidate and harden full-stack applications into maintainable, well-tested production services.
- Define engineering standards for API design, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and deployment practices.
- Build and maintain Python and Node.js backend services on AWS.
- Develop responsive frontend experiences using React and TypeScript.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform or CDK.
- Integrate with hardware systems through REST APIs and WebSockets for control and telemetry.
- Participate in remote support rotations, including occasional early or late hours.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional full-stack development experience with Python and React/TypeScript.
- Strong backend fundamentals, including REST API design, authentication, and database modeling.
- Production AWS experience with services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, or comparable services.
- DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and production operations.
- Ability to own and ship products end-to-end with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work in the office in Palo Alto, California.
- Preferred qualifications include infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation; frontend state management and component architecture; web application security hardening; production monitoring, logging, and alerting; and experience working across multiple codebases.
- Bonus qualifications include early-stage startup experience, hardware-adjacent experience, telemetry or embedded device interface experience, ROS, and C/C++.
