Responsibilities
- Own strategy and improvements for security initiatives including fuzzing, threat modeling, secrets management, and container security.
- Lead complex security projects from inception through completion.
- Drive secure architecture, coding patterns, and processes across Server Engineering.
- Partner with engineering teams to design and implement security controls across software and systems.
- Research and proof-of-concept new attacks against MongoDB systems.
- Plan and conduct product security assessments including architecture reviews, threat modeling, code review, penetration testing, and security consulting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in software security and architecture.
- Educate engineers through CTFs, lunch-and-learns, and one-on-one mentorship.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in application security, software security, or product security.
- Proven C++ programming experience, including security assessments of low-level codebases and remediation of memory-related flaws such as buffer overflows and memory leaks.
- Ability to contribute software code to the organization’s environments.
- Experience leading threat models, conducting security design reviews, and partnering with software engineers to develop pragmatic security recommendations.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to varied audiences and build trust.
- Demonstrated ownership of security initiatives and ability to deliver results autonomously or collaboratively.
- Availability to work flexible hours occasionally to collaborate with colleagues based in the United States.
- Preferred experience in database security or data security.
- Preferred knowledge of database engines, database internals, or applied cryptography.
- Preferred experience working with security researchers on vulnerabilities published as CVEs or with CNA administrative responsibilities.
