Base Salary
$173k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide product concepts from business and product problem definition through prototype development, production launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Build and deploy production-quality agentic AI systems, analyses, prompts, and supporting services hands-on.
- Use hypotheses, success criteria, instrumentation, and usage data to prioritize and refine product work.
- Apply, stress-test, and improve shared agentic AI patterns involving LLMs, agents, Skills, MCP, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails.
- Set a high bar for architecture, code review, testing, observability, evaluations, and incident quality.
- Direct technical and product decisions, influence people and product direction, and make EMs and PMs more effective.
- Lead technical interviews, help calibrate AI capability assessment, and mentor senior and staff engineers.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years in a Tech Lead, Staff, or Principal role guiding the technical direction of a team or program.
- Direct experience creating, deploying, operating, and improving agentic AI systems in production beyond demos or proofs of concept.
- Hands-on production proficiency with modern JavaScript and TypeScript plus at least one of Go, Python, or C#.
- Experience with AWS at scale, containerization, GitLab or GitHub CI/CD, PostgreSQL, data modeling, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, test automation, observability, and reliability.
- Ability to make architectural judgments, write build documentation, guide product tradeoffs, and use metrics to drive iteration.
- Strong business, product, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with platform or horizontal services, Product Lifecycle Management, Kubernetes, Akamai, Terraform, or matrixed TL/EM/PM models is preferred.
- Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, or tabletop gaming is preferred.
