Base Salary
$74k - $77k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
- Work on online and batch processing systems.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Perform unit and system testing, resolve defects, and provide production support.
- Troubleshoot application and database issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
- Participate in Agile development activities and sprint ceremonies.
- Use JIRA to manage tasks, defects, and development activities.
- Conduct code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality, low-defect solutions with a focus on first-time-right delivery.
Requirements
- 7–15 years of experience with strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
- Strong expertise with online and batch JCL.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, database, communication, and quality-focused skills.
- Understanding of Java programming.
- Experience using JIRA for work management.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology.
- Ability to perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Preferred experience with IBM Debugger and familiarity with GitHub.
