Base Salary
$109k - $131k/yr
Responsibilities
- Generate and execute vehicle test plans, collect relevant data, and identify system limitations
- Perform root-cause analysis of defects and performance issues and recommend solutions
- Design and deploy instrumentation and infrastructure for test-data capture
- Analyze test data and produce performance reports, defect reports, and supporting logs
- Maintain verification and validation reports comparing vehicle-level performance with system requirements
- Develop quantifiable performance metrics and vehicle-level tests for software components
- Perform on-road testing in autonomous vehicles as a detailed observer and annotator
- Execute software development lifecycle activities including design, implementation, unit testing, vehicle testing, and deployed software maintenance
- Design and implement data-acquisition and analysis systems for remote vehicles
- Use simulation software and scenarios to prevent regressions in software performance
- Support software and system-level test plans, verification strategies, process automation, and software delivery
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or another relevant technical field, or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with 4+ years of technically relevant work experience
- Working-level experience in transportation, engineering, safety, or related technology
- Experience testing and verifying systems composed of hardware and software components
- Working-level software development knowledge in Linux environments, including Ubuntu or CentOS
- Working knowledge of Modern C++, Python, Bash, REST APIs, Git, and Jenkins
- Ability to troubleshoot complex robotic systems across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
- Knowledge of automation, configuration management, DevOps, and CI/CD delivery concepts and tools
- Ability to perform extended observation, reading, analysis, and typing in a moving vehicle
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, maintain focus under stressful conditions, and contribute to multidisciplinary projects
- Experience with closed-course testing is preferred
